What Makes a 77007 Commercial Epoxy Floor So Good?
Epoxy floors are a type of flooring that is built up of multiple layers of epoxy resin. Epoxy floors are known for their high durability and resistance to wear and tear, making them a popular choice for high-traffic commercial areas. Epoxy floors are also easy to maintain and clean, making them a low-maintenance option for busy residential households.
But what exactly is epoxy? Well, epoxy is actually a type of plastic. It is a two-part system that consists of a resin and a hardener. When these two components are mixed together, they trigger a chemical reaction that causes the epoxy to harden, which is also known as curing. Epoxy is resistant to both chemicals and most forms of damage. It also provides a level of heat protection, which makes them ideal in applications like industrial kitchens and car service garages.
Overall, epoxy floor coating is a very versatile flooring option, especially when combined with the color options that Epoxy Technology Coatings offers. So, be sure to get in touch with us to get started on the 77007 commercial epoxy floor you need!
How is Epoxy Flooring Installed?
Many people are curious about how epoxy floors are installed. It looks like beautiful stone slabs, and yet the flakes seem to be suspended in 3D. And often, the flooring doesn’t look like cut stone slabs – it looks like it was poured.
We at Epoxy Technology Coatings are happy to explain the general epoxy process. It is important to note that although DIY kits are available at stores like Home Depot and Lowes, the process that professionals use to lay down their epoxy is more refined. We also have access to much higher-quality materials.
Step 1: Prepare the Concrete
Before any epoxy can be added, our crew will need to prepare the concrete. Epoxy requires an undamaged, uncontaminated surface to adhere to. So, any old coatings and sealers will have to be removed, any oil or grease spills will need to be cleaned up, and any cracks or holes in the concrete will need to be patched up.
To clean off the concrete floor, our workers will use an industrial grinder to grind off the top layer of concrete. This will also serve to provide a smooth, even surface for the epoxy, and it will also open up the pores. The epoxy will be able to seep into the concrete pores in order to attach better to the floor.
Finally, our workers will fill in all cracks and holes in the concrete using an epoxy patching material.
Step 2: Add the Primer
Now that the concrete is ready, it is time to pour out the first layer of epoxy coating onto the floor. This epoxy is mixed up from a blend of epoxy resin (Part A) and a chemical hardener (Part B). Once the epoxy is poured out onto the floor, our crew will use brushes, rollers, and rubber squeegees to spread the liquid out in a thin, even layer.
Step 3: Add in the Color
Now is the fun part: color customization! Epoxy Technology Coatings offers a wide variety of color options for our floors, so be sure to check out what we have on offer. Whether you want an elegant, dark floor for a hotel or a bright, clean floor for a hospital, there is sure to be something that is perfect for your business.

Step 4: Sealing It Up
Finally, once all the colors have had time to settle, it is time to add a clear top coat. This top coat will seal off the epoxy, adding durability and longevity to the flooring.
Once the top coat is applied, the epoxy needs to be left to cure for a few days. For the next day or so, you will need to avoid walking or driving on the flooring. It might take up to seven days for the epoxy to fully cure, but at the end of that time, you will have the tough, durable floor you need!
